Kristin M. Ellis, MS, CCC-SLP/L, is a highly accomplished Speech-Language Pathologist with a robust academic and professional background. She holds a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, having completed her Bachelor of Science in 2009 and Master of Science in 2011, both from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Kristin is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership & Administration at the same institution. She is licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Additionally, Kristin is certified as an Instructional Level I Teacher of Speech and Language Impaired PK-12 and is in the process of converting to Instructional Level II.
Kristin’s professional experience spans a wide array of settings, including public schools across both northeastern and southeastern Pennsylvania, specialized private schools for students with visual impairments, autism, and behavioral challenges, as well as pediatric and geriatric outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. She is particularly skilled in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), an area of expertise where she has made significant contributions. In recognition of her dedication to professional development, Kristin has received the ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) in 2020, 2022, and 2024.
As a passionate advocate for AAC, Kristin is a member of ASHA and an active participant in ASHA’s Special Interest Group (SIG) 12, Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She is also affiliated with the United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (USSAAC) and the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC). Kristin is an experienced presenter, having shared her knowledge and insights on AAC at local, national, and international conferences. Her presentations often focus on topics such as AAC and literacy, as well as strategies for preventing device abandonment among AAC users.
